The IARTEM 2021 Conference invites presentations in 2 formats

Please read the call for abstracts to find the optimal format for your research

Subjects for paper presentations are ongoing or finished research projects that relate to the theme of the conference. Structured abstracts must be between 400–500 words, not counting a maximum of 5 references, written in English. Abstracts requirements:

1.1 Empirical research paper

Please, structure the abstracts as follows:

  • Title
  • Author(s)
  • Keywords (2–4)
  • Introduction:

A broad overview of the entire research, including the purpose of the paper, i.e. what problem it attempts to solve and why it is worth to be addressed, the context around the problem, research question(s), possible hypothesis.

  • Methods

The methodology of the research, i.e., how the data were collected and analysed, including descriptions of instruments, software, and sample.

  • Results

Summary of the results and the conclusive outcome.

  • Discussion

The conclusion, i.e., what the results mean, and the ramifications of the study. The research limitations may be included and/or what it adds to the field as a whole and to the previous studies.

  • References (max. 5)


1.2  Position paper

Theoretical contributions or historical insights on issues particularly relevant to the objectives of the conference, making an argument that has to be built upon evidence.

Please, structure the abstracts as follows:

  • Title
  • Author(s)
  • Keywords (2–4)
  • Aims of the position paper
  • The most important relevant work done in this area
  • Problem, question, hypothesis, theory to be tested and their relevance
  • Importance and usefulness of the study
  • References (max. 5)

Abstracts will be double-blind peer-reviewed by experienced researchers.

Paper presentations at the IARTEM Conference include 20 minutes for presentation followed by 10 minutes of comments and questions from the audience.

Subjects for poster presentations are ongoing or finished research projects that relate to the conference’s theme by empirical research (contributions of a scientific nature including a literature reference, problem statement, research questions, description of the methodology, presentation of research results and discussion). The poster session is a good format for:

  • Engaging in discussion and dialogue about your research.
  • Visually presenting your research in an appealing and engaging way.

Abstract for poster sessions should be no longer than 300 words and include research questions, objectives and theoretical framework, research methods, and findings or expected outcomes.

Poster presenters prepare a printed poster in A0 or A1-format, and a 5-minute oral presentation.

Posters and poster presentations are in English.

Conference proceedings will be published. After the Conference, lecturers will submit their papers in digital format for a double-blinded review. It will be the responsibility of the IARTEM editorial board to select some studies to be included in the association’s journal.

Due to the uncertainty surrounding the worldwide situation of the pandemic, the Executive Board will meet in January to assess the possibility of using conference call or videoconference systems in circumstances where health restrictions would prevent participants from attending the presence Conference.


What about Accomodation?

Participants will need to book their own accommodation. Hotel bills will be paid directly at the hotel. We will provide a list of hotels located in the Conference area.


We advise participants to book accomodation only upon confirmation of final acceptance of their abstracts.
